At Loganholme State School we believe that learning is a team effort, and with your support, we can create an even more exciting and enriching environment for our students. We are reaching out to encourage parents and family members to volunteer and help out in our classrooms. Whether it's changing home reading books, reading to students, or assisting with the vital practising of letters and sounds, your involvement makes a huge difference in our children's education.

We look forward to working together and making this term a positive and enriching experience for all!

Ways You Can Help:

Change Home Reading Books: Assist with selecting and changing reading books for our students. This helps ensure they are always progressing and enjoying their reading journey.

Read to Students: Encourage a love of reading by spending time reading to small groups or individual students. This helps improve their literacy skills and fosters a love for books.

Support with Letters and Sounds (Prep - Year 2): The early years of learning to read and write are crucial, and we need volunteers to assist with practising letters and sounds. This program helps develop the essential skills needed for fluent reading and writing.

Important Details:

Parents do not require a Blue Card to volunteer. However, family members such as grandparents will need to have one. Please ensure you follow the appropriate steps to apply for a Blue Card if you are not the child’s parent.

All volunteers must complete mandatory training before starting. The training will also cover letters and sounds and best practices for supporting early literacy. We want to ensure that everyone is comfortable and confident in their roles.

We are excited about the possibility of working together to help our students succeed. If you are interested in volunteering or need more information, please contact Caitlin McIlwain or sign up at admin@loganholmess.eq.edu.au

Thank you for being an integral part of our school community – together, we can make a difference!
