Our Library at Loganholme State School is part of our I-Centre and is home to a large collection of children’s books, including both fiction and non-fiction, chosen especially to suit our students. Within the library, students are encouraged to develop a life-long passion for books and reading for enjoyment, as well as develop the literacy and information skills necessary to succeed in a constantly changing world. The I-Centre, which includes our Library, STEM room, and Levelled Literacy Intervention room, provides a flexible, modern teaching space for both students and teachers, and facilitates the use of traditional resources such as books, as well as a range of information and communication technologies, robotics, play-based resources and teacher resources to ensure all of our students have access to the tools they need to achieve success at school and in the future.
All students are encouraged to borrow books from our Library, either during their scheduled class borrowing time, or during playtime. Prep to Year 2 students are allowed to borrow one book for one week and are encouraged to use a library bag to ensure safe transportation of books to and from school. Students in Years 3 to 6 are able to borrow two books for two weeks. Loans can of course be renewed at any time if required. The Library is open daily at 1st break for students to participate in a wide variety of activities, including story times, board games, construction, craft activities, coding and many more!
