There was an abundance of this PRIDE evident at yesterday’s National Flag Day Ceremony as we were honoured to share this event with Federal Member for Waterford, Mr Bert Van Manen, Logan City Mayor, Ms Pam Parker and fellow councillors, Mr Luke Smith and Mr Steve Swenson. We also partnered with special guests from the National Flag Association and Captain Bob Hume from the Royal Australian Naval Reserve who showed students a range of different flags and their meanings.
This was a great opportunity for Loganholme State School to show our appreciation for the work that these people do to support us. We are very privileged to live in such a lucky country, and the Flag Raising Ceremony was a symbol of the RESPECT we have for our flag. Mr Miller of the National Flag Association also led students through a Citizen Affirmation, which is another way that Australians can show respect for our flag, and the guiding principles, laws, rights and responsibilities in our country.
Many many thanks to the wonderful parents, grandparents and friends who helped showcase our school on Thursday. The decadent delicacies you prepared to serve to our guests were delightful! The garden garlands you garnished tables with were gorgeous!
