Another wonderful experience at Ascot Drive with many excited students, both senior and junior, actively engaged in the reading program. The senior students commented that their ‘little buddies’ obviously have a very favourite book, as they want it read to them week after week.  It is always a pleasure to see our students actively engaged and reading with such enthusiasm and expression to the younger members of our community.

Partnerships in Practice

When walking with our school leaders along Drews Road to attend the Kingfisher Reading Program, we noticed a considerable amount of rubbish along the side of the road. After discussion about the threat to the environment and in particular our waterways, these community minded students collected rubbish for the rest of our journey. They also suggested that we perhaps take gloves and rubbish bags each time we go.  Councillor Luke Smith, last Friday, commended our students for their efforts.
