Little Kingfishers

Learn and play

Little Kingfishers is the pre-prep program offered at Loganholme State School. This program engages children in activities to develop their basic literacy and numeracy skills. Little Kingfishers supports your child's readiness for prep in 2019. We started the program in 2013 with a bubbly bunch of 4 year olds. The children had a ball participating in the activities and familiarising themselves with the school grounds.  Little Kingfishers was very successful in preparing these students for the start of prep this year.

Give your child the best start to their education by immersing them in the fun early learning activities run at Little Kingfishers. We invite all children aged 0-5 years old to come and visit Little Kingfishers every Tuesday and Thursday from 1.30 pm - 2.30 pm in the Parent room. All gold coin donations go directly back into the program.

What does the program offer?

Kingfisher Kindy helps the children learn how to:

  • Write their name.

  • Count to ten.

  • Identify important elements of books.

  • Hold a pencil correctly.

  • Identify some letters in different texts.

  • Interact appropriately with other children their age.

What's coming up?

This year we will be offering another jam-packed program full of educational activities and games for the children. This year Little Kingfishers will be running in the parent room next to the school hall.

We only offer 20 places in this program and registrations are essential. To secure your child a place, please phone our school office.
